TISA Re-entry April 2021
Safety
● TISA passed all mandated inspections (State/Fire Marshal)
● MERV-13 filters and two fans installed in all classrooms
● Doors and windows remain open in all classrooms
● Signage placed throughout school
● Water fountains off-limits at this time – students drink from water bottles
● Desks in classrooms facing the same way and distanced to the greatest extent possible
● Masks worn by all individuals on campus at all times, except when eating or drinking
● Masks, hand sanitizer, wipes, and disinfectant spray provided at all times for all staff and students
● Use of hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be utilized upon arrival at school, after all meal and bathroom breaks, and at other times during the day
● All students, visitors, and staff will undergo a temperature check and health screening immediately upon arrival at school
● When possible, individuals will complete a Dr. Owl app health screening prior to arriving at campus
● Students and visitors will remain in their vehicles until they pass the health screening/temperature check
● Staff will continue mandated covid testing of all non-vaccinated staff
● In the event of covid contamination or direct exposure, TISA will follow the current State protocol for quarantining
● Sanitation/deep cleaning of all rooms and the playground will occur at the end of every school day (custodial staff following CDC guidelines for sanitation and supplies)
● Custodial logs for cleaning of high use areas, such as bathrooms, are posted and maintained
● Bathrooms include extra signage, hot water for hand washing, soap,and towels
● Inventory of masks and PPE kept on hand at TISA for use by staff and students
● Safety drills modified to accommodate distancing
● Staff trained on new covid-safe procedures
● Plexiglass shield in high contact areas installed
● Isolation area for sick individuals set up
● Staggered drop off and pick up times established for all grades
● Teachers trained in facilitating distanced, masked games for their classes during recess times
● Families informed of covid-safe practices and new re-entry protocols
In-person Instruction
● In-person classes resume on regular schedule beginning Monday, April 5, 2021
● Students will social distance to the greatest extent possible inside and 6 feet outside
● Students will bring their own supplies to limit sharing of the virus
● Students will remain with only their own class for the duration of the day
● Students will eat breakfast and lunch in the classroom or outside with their class
● Students will work only with their assigned chromebook to limit sharing the virus
● Class will be held outside whenever the weather permits
● Art classes and Golden Willow SEL support/Mindfulness lesson occur weekly in-person, plus are live streamed to students learning remotely
Remote Learning
● Students have option to stay home for remote learning if desired by families
● All remote learning students have access to a computer/chromebook (from school if needed) and can use our school hotspot and other hotspots throughout Taos County if they have internet issues
● All teachers provide online remote classes that address the core subjects – students can choose between all online Edgenuity learning or Canvas classes combined with daily zoom meetings with their classes
● Art classes and Golden Willow SEL support/Mindfulness lessons are live streamed to students learning remotely
● Teachers are available via phone, text, or email daily
● Students can schedule 1:1 or small group tutoring in the afternoons, once in-person class dismisses, with the classroom teachers or support staff
● Teachers continue regular check-ins via phone, text, or email
● Small group, in-person meetings can be scheduled with teachers outside of regular school hours
● Students will complete testing at home, if parents are not comfortable with students completing testing in-person at the school
