Hello everyone! My name is Karrie Burnette and I am a Special Education teacher here at TISA. I am a Lakota Sioux from Rosebud, South Dakota and my Lakota name is Hollow Horn Elk Woman. My late father was a US Marine and I am a US Army veteran so I lived in many places. I am very proud to have followed my father and grandfather’s footsteps by serving my country. I have a Bachelor Degree in Health Information Management and moved to Taos in January 2021 for a job transfer related to my degree. Last year, I decided to go back to school and change my career to work with children. I am now working at TISA and I absolutely love it here! I look forward to working with your child and providing them positive support and guidance during their education journey here at TISA! Thank you for your time and God bless!
